• Admiral's Pie Mix

A traditional fisherman's pie would be made with white fish in a white sauce, but we've opted for the Admiral's Pie version - a more luxurious take on the humble fish pie - featuring salmon (or trout), smoked haddock and juicy king prawns.

We recommend using one of our favourite Jamie Oliver recipes which we really love cooking regularly at home which serves 6 people.

The recipe features a nifty method of using your box grater to speed up the preparation and get more fresh vegetables into the dish. It's a great winter warmer and delivers over 50g of protein per serving.

Please note: our Admiral's Pie Mix just includes the fish and shellfish - it's not a complete Recipe Kit.

    What's included:

300g* of high-quality Norwegian salmon fillet

    300g* smoked haddock fillet

6 x whole raw king prawns**

The fish will be fully prepared (skin off, cut into generous bite-sized chunks). The prawns will require peeling & shelling (if you need some tips, we have a video to help you).

Other ingredients you'll need from your store cupboard:

Fresh vegetables: potatoes, carrot, celery, lemon, tomatoes, fresh red chilli, baby spinach, flat-leaf parsley

    Cheddar cheese

    Olive oil

    Plastic-free sustainable packaging

We use plant-based, compostable packaging for our fresh fish paper wrapping, labels and bags. You can freeze your fresh fish in the paper it arrives in and, when you have finished with it, add it to your food waste bin, compost bin or garden compost and it will break down into organic material in a matter of weeks.

    *Weights may vary

**If you don't eat prawns, please let us know and we can substitute for scallops or additional salmon.

    • How should I store my fish?

When we deliver your order, pop it straight in the fridge (in the compostable greaseproof paper in which it is wrapped). Fresh fish is best enjoyed the same day it's delivered by us to you, or within 2 days. Each pack features a label with a 'Use By' date which will be 2 days after the date your fish was packed and delivered.

Alternatively, if you're planning to eat your fish 2+ days later, freezing is recommended to maintain freshness. To freeze your fish, place it straight in the freezer as soon as possible - it freezes well in the compostable greaseproof paper in which it is wrapped. It will be fine for up to two months after the 'Use By' date. Defrost your fish thoroughly before use and, once defrosted, use on the same day. Do not re-freeze.

Please remember to dispose of the compostable greaseproof paper in your food waste bin, compost bin or garden compost. It will break down into organic material in a matter of weeks.
