    A traditional fisherman's pie would be made with white fish in a white sauce, but we've opted for the Admiral's Pie version - a more luxurious take on the humble fish pie - featuring salmon (or trout), smoked haddock and juicy king prawns.

     

    We recommend using one of our favourite Jamie Oliver recipes which we really love cooking regularly at home.

     

    The recipe features a nifty method of using your box grater to speed up the preparation and get more fresh vegetables into the dish. It's a great winter warmer and delivers maximum protein per serving.

     

    Please note: our Admiral's Pie Mix just includes the fish and shellfish - it's not a complete Recipe Kit.

     

    We supply our mix in two sizes - to suit your family:

     

    Medium (4-6 people):

    300g* of high-welfare salmon/trout fillet (skin off & cubed)

    300g* smoked haddock fillet (skin off & cubed)

    8 x raw king prawns (shelled & deveined)

     

    Large (8-12 people):

    600g* of high-welfare salmon/trout fillet (skin off & cubed)

    600g* smoked haddock fillet (skin off & cubed)

    16 x raw king prawns (shelled & deveined)

     

    Other ingredients you'll need from your store cupboard:

    Fresh vegetables: potatoes, carrot, celery, lemon, tomatoes, fresh red chilli, baby spinach, flat-leaf parsley

    Cheddar cheese

    Olive oil

    • How should I store my fish & prawns?

      When we deliver your order, put it straight in the fridge. This product is best enjoyed the same day it's delivered or within 2 days. Each pack features a label with a 'Use By' date which will be 2 days after the packing date. The paper wrapping is compostable, so it can go in your food waste bin or composter.

       

      Alternatively, if you're planning to eat your fish 2+ days later, freezing is recommended to maintain freshness. Ideally freeze your fish as soon as possible on the delivery day. Remove all of the packaging and place in a freezer bag (remove excess air) or airtight freezer container. Defrost thoroughly before use and eat on the same day. Do not re-freeze. Best within 2 months of freezing.

       

      Prawns: these are frozen at source (south east Asia) and defrosted on the day of delivery - it is not recommended they are re-frozen. Best eaten on the day of delivery, or within 1-2 days.
