Bali - a Hindu island in Indonesia - has a unique and interesting style of cuisine, demonstrating indigenous traditions alongside influences from other Indonesian regional cuisine, Chinese & Indian.
This Balinese Basa Gede curry paste - by Henfield-based chef Neha Hampton - is the traditional Bali spice mix: balancing fresh ingredients including lemongrass, turmeric and ginger with dry earthy ingredients such as candlenuts, nutmeg and coriander.
Using this curry paste couldn't be simpler: just add 300g of fresh fish (or your own choice of shellfish) and a standard tin of coconut milk - then serve with jasmine rice. Delicious, nutritious and ready in less than 30 mins - perfect when you're pushed for time or have a curry craving.
Each pot of paste is enough to make a curry for 2 people. Please order in multiples to suit your family / group size, and adjust the other ingredients accordingly.
Supplied to you frozen from fresh, providing the convenience to keep it in your freezer for up to 6 months, or leave to defrost for a tasty dinner the same day we deliver.
