• White Fresh Fish Selection

Our White Fresh Fish Selections feature two types of high-quality white fish in every order. It's the ideal choice if you're looking to eat a healthy, balanced diet and want the convenience of prepared fillets. Most recently, we have included local Sussex Hake, Cod, Plaice and Grey Mullet within these selections.

If you have a preference for a particular type of white fish, on request, you can have all the same type of fish in this selection e.g. all Cod, all Haddock, all Hake or all Plaice (just drop us a line at hello@nutritiousfish.co.uk to let us know your requirements).

Our fish is a world away from what you will find in the supermarket:

    Fresh means fresh

We deliver high-quality fresh fish to your door either the day it's caught (for locally-landed Sussex fish) or within 1-2 days if it's from elsewhere in the UK. Unlike a lot of supermarket fish, ours has never been previously frozen, so you're guaranteed that fresh means fresh.

    Seasonal & UK-sourced

We select fresh fish in season from within the UK - as much as possible comes from our local Sussex waters. This means our fish has fewer food miles than non-UK fish so it reaches you fresher, has a lower environmental impact and isn't frozen on its journey to you.

    Generous fillet portions

Our portion fillets are a minimum of 180-200g* each, which you'll find is much more generous than your usual supermarket portion. This means it goes further and provides better value-for-money.

    Plastic-free sustainable packaging

We use plant-based, compostable packaging for our fresh fish paper wrapping, labels and bags. You can freeze your fresh fish in the paper it arrives in and, when you have finished with it, add it to your food waste bin, compost bin or garden compost and it will break down into organic material in a matter of weeks.

    Product Type
    • Provenance

We often include Plaice, Cod, Pollock, Hake and Grey Mullet in these selections. These fish are caught in the local sea area by small inshore day-boats that rely on seasonal fisheries native to this area and work closely with local authorities to allow us all to benefit from sustainably caught fish and shellfish. The day-boats land their catch within hours of capture, to ensure the fish is of the highest quality. When these fish are temporarily unavailable from the local sea area, we will only source them from sustainable stocks within the UK.

    • How should I store my fish?

When we deliver your order, pop it straight in the fridge (in the compostable greaseproof paper in which it is wrapped). Fresh fish is best enjoyed the same day it's delivered by us to you, or within 2 days. Each pack features a label with a 'Use By' date which will be 2 days after the date your fish was packed and delivered.

Alternatively, if you're planning to eat your fish 2+ days later, freezing is recommended to maintain freshness. To freeze your fish, place it straight in the freezer as soon as possible - it freezes well in the compostable greaseproof paper in which it is wrapped. It will be fine for up to two months after the 'Use By' date. Defrost your fish thoroughly before use and, once defrosted, use on the same day. Do not re-freeze.

Please remember to dispose of the compostable greaseproof paper in your food waste bin, compost bin or garden compost. It will break down into organic material in a matter of weeks.
